In a scene where femme artists continue to face bias, double standards and discrimination, GUNK puts “girls in punk” front and centre.
It’s a night to celebrate expression, feminism, queer joy, and pure punk attitude. After more than a decade working in the music industry, GUNK founder Sarah recognised the need for safer, more inclusive shows where femme and queer artists could take up space, be heard, and build community. While booking line-ups, she was always striving for gender diversity but quickly realised how difficult it was to discover new femme talent in a scene where representation remained so unbalanced. So she created GUNK to showcase femme talent in the industry and bring these artists together to build a community.After a wildly successful launch at the end of 2024, GUNK came roaring back onto the Melbourne scene in 2026 with a sold-out show in June and its biggest event yet in August.
Now GUNK is heading to Geelong.
For its highly anticipated all-ages debut in the region, three local femme bands will take over The Church stage for a night of head-banging, heart-thumping chaos. Expect community, love, and unapologetically loud music.
